Terms of Use
Last updated: April 23, 2026
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Library of Love application, website, and related services (collectively, the “Service”). The Service is provided by Library of Love GmbH, Moststraße 6, 90762 Fürth, Germany (“we,” “us,” or “our”).
By creating an account, accessing the Service, or tapping “Agree & Continue,” you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. You may use the Service only if you are legally permitted to enter into this agreement under applicable law.
2. License to Use the Service
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, resell, or misuse the Service except as allowed by law.
3. Nature of the Service
Library of Love is a private, consent-first tool for personal reflection and relationship coordination. It is not a crisis service, not a law-enforcement service, and not a substitute for therapy, medical advice, or legal advice.
4. Your Content
You may create, upload, store, and, where available, share text, notes, comments, desires, profile information, images, and other content through the Service (“User Content”).
You keep ownership of your User Content. However, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, store, reproduce, process, transmit, display, analyze, classify, flag, review, moderate, and remove your User Content only as needed to operate, maintain, secure, moderate, investigate abuse, comply with law, and improve the Service.
You are responsible for the User Content you submit or share. You represent that you own the content you upload, or that you otherwise have all necessary rights, permissions, and consents to upload and share it through the Service. If your content depicts another person, especially in a private or intimate context, you must have the right and consent to share it.
5. Privacy and Visibility
Some content in the Service may be private by default, and some content may be visible to other users only if you choose to create or accept a connection or otherwise share it. You are responsible for the sharing choices you make.
Our handling of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.
6. Community Rules
You may not use the Service to post, send, request, or share content that:
- is illegal or promotes illegal activity;
- harasses, threatens, bullies, or intimidates another person;
- is coercive, exploitative, abusive, or non-consensual;
- is or appears to be child sexual abuse material or otherwise involves minors in a sexual or exploitative way;
- contains hate speech or glorifies violence;
- invades another person’s privacy, including doxxing, sharing personal data without permission, or depicting another person’s private, intimate, or sexual image without that person’s consent;
- impersonates another person or misrepresents your identity;
- is spam, scam, fraudulent, or misleading;
- infringes another person’s intellectual property or other rights, or includes images or media that you do not own or have permission to use or share;
- is designed to evade, test, or circumvent our safety or moderation systems; or
- is otherwise objectionable or unsafe in our judgment.
No user is ever entitled to another user’s attention, content, response, or participation.
7. Reports, Blocking, and Safety Enforcement
Users may report objectionable content or behavior and may block other users.
When you upload a photo to a log entry, we run automated safety checks:
- Child-sexual-abuse-material detection. We compute a perceptual hash (a short fingerprint derived from the image) on our servers and send only that hash to Project Arachnid Shield, a service operated by the Canadian Centre for Child Protection. The image itself does not leave our infrastructure for this check.
- Image and caption classification. We send the image and its caption to OpenAI's content-moderation service to identify categories such as explicit content, violence, and self-harm. OpenAI processes the content in memory to return a classification and does not retain it or use it to train their models.
Library of Love GmbH accesses Shield by Project Arachnid https://projectarachnid.ca, a program of the Canadian Centre for Child Protection Inc., to facilitate the detection and removal of child sexual abuse material and harmful-abusive material of children and survivors of child sexual abuse on its services.
If a hash matches known child-sexual-abuse material, we delete the photo immediately and log the match for mandatory reporting to the competent authority (Germany: Bundeskriminalamt / INHOPE).
We store classification results alongside your photo. If another user reports the photo and it was already flagged for a disallowed category, we may remove it automatically. Removed photos are kept for 30 days so you can appeal, then permanently deleted. We rate-limit uploads per account to reduce abuse.
We may also use other automated tools and signals, including flagging, abuse detection, and similar measures, to detect, prioritize, restrict, review, or remove suspected violations of these Terms.
Other reported content may be reviewed manually and/or with automated assistance and escalated for moderation as appropriate.
We may preserve relevant content, metadata, reports, and account activity as reasonably necessary to investigate abuse, enforce these Terms, comply with law, and protect users.
We may remove content, restrict features, suspend accounts, terminate accounts, or take other reasonable action when we believe these Terms or the safety of the Service have been violated.
If you believe content or an account action was taken in error, you may contact us for review.
8. Account Suspension or Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if you violate these Terms, create risk for other users, create legal risk for us, or misuse the Service.
You may stop using the Service at any time. You may request account deletion by contacting us at support@libraryoflove.app or by using any in-app deletion tools we provide.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, perfect security, or that the Service will always be error-free.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of the Service.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify users as appropriate. Your continued use of the Service after updated Terms take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
